A MISUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM
This production of A Midsummer Night's Dream is just the beginning for the Children's Shakespeare Theatre. I hope that we've delivered it with all of the enthusiasm that we've felt in the past few months. I hope that it has inspired some of you - some to support us in whichever way you can, and some to join us and be part of the next production!
It has been a great privilege and a boundless joy for me to work with this young company of lively players. I have watched the group grow from a hesitant but interested bunch to an enthusiastic, accomplished and cohesive troupe of young actors. For some the task before them was quite daunting, but they trusted me and I believed in them, and here we are!
Add to the picture an incredibly dedicated group of parents who brainstormed, coached, brought snacks, made costumes, coordinated rehearsals and productions and did all manner of helpful things, and you realize what an incredible community this group has grown to be.
The Children's Shakespeare Theatre has been a dream of mine for many years since I participated in just such a group when I was a child. The original group was spearheaded by Jean Brock. It existed for five years and six plays. My hope for this present group is that it continues for many years to come, enriching all of our lives through art, literature and community.
The next production will begin with workshops and auditions in September of 2000. Look for announcements in 10964, at the Post Office and the Palisades Library.
Thank you for all your support, and we look forward to seeing you at the next production!
